Interview Questions

These Interview Question Sets are designed to get students talking in authentic ways. Each set includes simple, level-appropriate prompts that can be used in a variety of classroom formats.

The goal is for each student to ask and answer four to five questions, building both confidence and fluency.

How to Use

There are many flexible ways to run these activities:

  • Pairs – students interview a partner with a small set of questions.
  • Small Groups – students take turns interviewing each other at a table.
  • Mingle Activity – students move around the classroom, meeting new partners and asking their chosen questions.
  • Teacher Assignment – the teacher selects specific questions for focus, or students choose their own.

After interviews, students can report back to the group, share findings, or use their notes for a short piece of writing.

Integrated Skills

  • Integrated skills: learners practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing to learn.
  • Fluency-focused: repetition and variation build confidence.
  • Adaptable: most appropriate for A1–low B1 learners, but can be extended with more complex follow-up tasks.
  • Flexible format: works as warm-up, filler, or a core fluency activity.
