These cards are designed to help pre-intermediate or intermediate level students with understanding concepts related to culture. This is an English for Specific Purpose activity that also deals with learner identity in the classroom.
To use these cards teachers can cut out the cards, or present all the pictures on one laminated card. As a group student use a venn diagram to decide which cards belong exclusively to Korea or to the USA.
After determining where the cards would go, students must determine what is unique about the cards that are exclusively from one place. By doing this students will come to conclusions about the elements that make up a the culture of a region.
Specifically that music, art, food, and tradition are important aspects of culture.
