These cards contain vocabulary related to adjectives useful for intermediate and upper intermediate EFL/ESL learners. To use these cards teachers can have students work in groups. As students look at each card the group agrees on something that can be represented by the description.
For example with the word long students might say: long hair, long sleeve, long nose, etc. These cards are designed to help with the clarification of vocabulary and are most useful in a presentation or practice stage of a PPP lesson.
Following practice with the cards I would have students take turns describing objects that can be seen in the room, or on cards with other students.
Finally I’d have students move to a window and describe things that can be seen from the the window using the describing words. As a final post activity students can also summarize three or four observed items with sentences using the descriptions language.
