These are riddles related to family and the home that are designed for use with high beginner and intermediate EFL/ESL learners. Each riddle is on a separate card. A second card includes picture answers. There are a number of ways to use riddle cards in the classroom. This can be used as a concentration or matching activity.
This can be played by placing the cards on one side of the classroom and having groups race to see how many they can answer in a given time. Teachers can cut up the cards and pass them out to groups of students to read. Following students challenge other groups to guess the answer to the riddle. These cards work well with the 10 step board, or the racer board. They can also be used with any of the board games that have card slots.
