Weather Wheel

By saradavila

This is an English for Specific purposes activity designed for beginning or pre-intermediate EFL/ESL learners.

In this task based activity students will use language related to the weather.

This content can easily relate to social studies or sciences classes where learners are discussing weather. Materials include: paper, crayons, paper fastener (This is what you want. )

Directions for students are included. Students draw different types of directions into the “slices” on the wheel. Cover with a circle that has one “slice” cut out, so that students will only see one type of weather at a time. Have student practice with a partner, turning the wheel to a type of weather and describing the weather that is shown.

This activity can be expanded by having students role play discussing the weather shown on the wheel.
