My Favorite Movie

This is a power point file designed for working with the whole group without creating a print out or handout for students. This can help teachers reduce preparation time for classes and reduce the amount of printed materials distributed in a typical class.

This works with a low budget student centered approach that incorporates the availability of technology. This is an interview activity designed for less controlled practice for EFL/ESL learners.

When using this interview activity it is a good idea to review required vocabulary or key phrases before students practice with this interview. For these activity students conduct an interview with another classmate.

There are different ways in which to use the interview activity.

In a very large class: The first time have students only interview partners in a group. The second time have students begin with partners in a group. Once finished students stand up and move around the classroom, or mingle, and interview others. As students understand the interview students can begin with the mingle, or cocktail mixer, activity.

This interview can be used as a small group or mingle/cocktail mixer activity. Optionally students can write answers to questions, or simply ask the questions, depending on the focus of the teacher and the need for physical classroom work from students.

This is a intermediate level activity. In the activity students write 8 to 10 questions. After writing the questions in the notebook students ask the questions about movies to others. This power point includes the interview chart and instructions for drawing the chart in the notebook.

This activity can be paired with questions from this Move interview question sheet or students can be encouraged to make their own.

As a follow up activity I will have students write a short paragraph about their own vacation activities.
