J.K. Rowling Reading Information Gap

By saradavila

These information gap activities are designed for beginner to pre-intermediate EFL/ESL students to practice scaffolded exchange of information. These information gaps are reading gap style information gaps.

In a partner pair one student is the reader and one student is the listener. The listening students fills in the blanks in the gap with information from the reader. In a group of two I would hand out two different information gaps. One the first reader is finished the second reader takes  turn.

These information gaps are based on the life of J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter series.

Once finished I ask students to answer comprehension questions written on the board. An additional follow up activity is to have students choose an author from their own country and create a similar essay about the author.
