Job Interview Advanced Activity

By saradavila

This is an interview activity designed for less controlled practice for EFL/ESL learners. When using this interview activity it is a good idea to review required vocabulary or key phrases before students practice with this interview.

For these activity students conduct an interview with another classmate. There are different ways in which to use the interview activity. In a very large class: The first time have students only interview partners in a group. The second time have students begin with partners in a group. Once finished students stand up and move around the classroom, or mingle, and interview others.

As students understand the interview students can begin with the mingle, or cocktail mixer, activity. This interview can be used as a small group or mingle/cocktail mixer activity.

Optionally students can write answers to questions, or simply ask the questions, depending on the focus of the teacher and the need for physical classroom work from students. This is a more advanced activity to help students prepare for a real life job interview.

As this is an advanced activity some teachers prefer not to have students write answer to promote more speaking and communicative fluency. This is an excellent activity for university level students.
