This is an interview activity designed for less controlled practice for EFL/ESL learners. When using this interview activity it is a good idea to review required vocabulary or key phrases before students practice with this interview. For these activity students conduct an interview with another classmate. There are different ways in which to use the interview activity. In a very large class: The first time have students only interview partners in a group. The second time have students begin with partners in a group. Once finished students stand up and move around the classroom, or mingle, and interview others. As students understand the interview students can begin with the mingle, or cocktail mixer, activity. This interview can be used as a small group or mingle/cocktail mixer activity. Optionally students can write answers to questions, or simply ask the questions, depending on the focus of the teacher and the need for physical classroom work from students. This is a more advanced activity relating details about traveling and vacation activities. Depending on the classroom size and class time I will use the interview chart, or ask students to draw an interview chart to limit asking and answering questions to three students. As a follow up activity I will have students write a short paragraph or essay on their own traveling experiences.
