These are riddles related to hobby activities that are designed for use with intermediate EFL/ESL learners. Each riddle is on a separate card. This can be matched to pictures cards in the Hobbies Flash Card Activity Set. There are a number of ways to use riddle cards in the classroom. This can be used as a concentration or matching activity.
This can be played by placing the cards on one side of the classroom and having groups race to see how many they can answer in a given time. Teachers can cut up the cards and pass them out to groups of students to read. Following students challenge other groups to guess the answer to the riddle. These cards work well with the 10 step board, or the racer board. They can also be used with any of the board games that have card slots.
*UPDATE: There appear to be two pages here. The second page is not a part of the riddle activity. Unless you have some creative ideas for how it could be. One possibility, after students have solved the riddle have them pick two or three pictures cards and use the words to create a short paragraph using one of the riddles.
