This is a thinking and conversation activity. For this teachers will need to buy a bag of colored candies. If you would like to pass out the candies I recommend M&M’s. However a larger bag can also be used and presented at the front of class. Students discuss the question and record guesses as a team. After each team has guess the teacher opens the bag and lets students count. Once the final count is in, students use the information to graph the candy colors in the bag. This is an excellent visual, kinesthetic, and interpersonal activity for students. Great for after school classes.
